Lead Motion Designer
I'm a Lead Motion designer with a dedication to craft and detail. I specialise in bringing ideas to life through movement from brand design all the way to the big screen. I have been working full time in the advertising industry for 6 years starting as a graphic designer, moving into digital and through to becoming the Motion Lead in the design department at BBH London.
Throughout this journey I've gained a rigorous understanding of the creative process both in advertising and in brand redesign and development. I push new ideas and developing existing ones, polishing work myself or guiding others through advice and direction.
I pride myself on my pragmatic approach to problems and unwavering commitment to the work at hand, big or small, believing every job to be an opportunity to learn. I love to create connections with all who are around me believing a positive day-to-day environment cultivates great work. I accept any challenge I can to progress and further myself in both my professional career and personal life.
My experience has taught me how to quickly adapt to changing circumstances whilst giving clear direction to those I’m working with. I stay hands on throughout the process to stay better connected to the work and to develop an understanding of the ever changing design landscape. I've worked with brands including 1800, Audi, Barclays, Burger King, F&F, Häagen-Dazs, Mentos, Nike, Premier League, Samsung, Tesco, The Coca-Cola Company, and many more.
Worked as part of the Brand Experience team, creating and designing experiential ideas for a variety of global brands. This involved learning new programs and expanding my skillset to adapt to the demands of the brief; After Effects for animation and learning front-end coding languages HTML and CSS to design and code the BBH Global website during the pandemic.
Merged in to the design department and took on more responsibility within my role, becoming the most senior motion designer within the team. I worked on a wide selection of pitches pushing brands and ideas to move in new ways and helping to win Barclays, Barclays Bank, Häagen-Dazs, Ribena, Wayfair, amongst others. I pushed the business and creatives to include motion from the start of the process, going from an afterthought to a must have for any project leaving the building.
I continued to work beyond my expectations, offering support and expertise to those in need and beginning to develop mavnagerial skills. Set-up a group for people interested in animation, offering a place to talk about all things moving and receive feedback on work. Part of this involved giving an introductory course to After Effects and the rest of our capabilities to the London office to open their eyes to our capabilities within the design department.
Was promoted to Motion Lead at the end of 2023 working with the head of design and fellow design directors to direct the department, bridging the gap between motion and design. Expanded the motion department to five people, started to integrate more 3D into the department's workflow, and began to develop motion into guidelines for newly undertaken branding projects.
